James Moyer of VA Charged With 3 Counts of Bigamy
The Augusta County, VA Sheriff's Office arrested a Waynesboro man Monday, charging him with three counts of bigamy.
Although the couple filed for divorce in 1996, Leveck said they never finalized the legal proceedings, and the case was taken off the court docket.
Since then, Moyer married in 2000, got divorced, married again in 2003, got divorced and then married a third time in 2005 to a woman from whom he is currently separated.
Leveck said when questioned, Moyer feigned ignorance about the woman he never divorced in 1996.
Eventually, he told the investigator that he had received a divorce packet from the court and mailed it back in.
