Step Daughter of Man Arrested for Bigamy Speaks

An Omaha woman is speaking out after her step dad was busted for having two wives. Jose Sanchez-Guijarro's step daughter says he moved to the United States from Mexico for a job. He met her mother, fell in love and married her. But police tell us he was living a double life.His step daughter, who didn't want to reveal her identity, says it all came out one year later.   

"He asked her to look at some papers and one of them happened to be the marriage certificate for his other wife," she said.

According to the paperwork, Jose Sanchez-Guijarro was already married. "She confronted him whenever she found out and that's when the domestic violence started," she said. Police arrested the 37-year-old for assualt and bigamy.

"He's actually a really nice guy believe it or not," his step daughter said. "He was that dad I never had, and it went sour on me."

Now his step daughter and her mother must move on, including trying to figure out how to pay the  bills."She's a strong woman and we'll get through it."
