A motion for a bond hearing was filed by Ed Hicks' court appointed attorney, Eric Cronin, in Chesapeake, VA. That hearing was held February 2, 2006 at 10 AM in the Circuit Court of Chesapeake City. Ed Hicks was denied bond, and he remains in the Chespeake, VA Correctional Facility until his trial on March 2 for the class four felony bigamy charge. Hicks has seven confirmed marriages and four of them overlap.
When Hicks was asked if he had ever been arrested or placed on a bond before, Mr. Hicks testified that he had never been arrested. Later when Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, Derek Wagner, asked Ed Hicks about the bigamy charge and his arrest in Fairfax County on May 25, 2005, Mr. Hicks admitted he had been arrested and placed on a personal recognizance bond.
Hicks was arrested for a second time in Mecklenburg County NC on January 8 after fleeing Virginia and violating a surety bond he received in Chesapeake. Hicks was returned to Virginia on January 18 by the Chesapeake Sheriff's Department.

Thank GOODNESS someone finally sees this guy is a flight risk. He sounds like a hardened liar too. Jerk.
